School Innovation and Improvement Plan

School Innovation and Improvement Plan At-a-Glance

The overarching goal for the 2016-2017 school year is to post comprehensive learning targets within each classroom K-6 grade in every subject (math, language arts, science, and social studies). These targets are based on the 2016-2017 Planning and Pacing Guides of each subject. The goal is for the students to take ownership of their learning.

Strategy 1 - Utilize our PLC to analyze baseline data from pre- and post-assessments per grade levels K-6. We will do this by utilizing grade-level CLTs for planning and instruction, analyzing data to identify student learning and progress, creating ongoing flexible groups, common assessments, and use the REACH program to meet the needs of all students with intervention and enrichment.

Strategy 2 - Utilize the Workshop Model in language arts and math in all grade levels to provide differentiated, hands-on instruction to meet the needs of all learners. We will do this by focusing on Tier 1 instruction by incorporating Lucy Calkins Units of Study and Blended Learning.

100% of Chesterbrook students will pass the MRA and the Math SOL for the 2016-2017 school year.

Strategy 1 - We will continue utilizing the math workshop model in all grade levels to provide differentiated, hands-on instruction to meet the needs of all of our learners.

Strategy 2 - We will analyze data to drive instruction- to include monitoring growth of individual students through targeted intervention/enrichment plans (REACH), ongoing analysis of eCart data, and team common assessments, and ongoing collaboration in grade-level CLTs. This will provide a rationale for decisions made to inform instruction.

100% of Chesterbrook students will pass the benchmark DRA2 and the Reading SOL for the 2016-2017 school year

Strategy 1 - We will continue implementing the Lucy Calkins Units of Study in Reading and Writing in all grade levels to provide differentiated, authentic instruction that tailors to the needs of all learners.

Strategy 2 - We will analyze eCart data to increase explicit instruction and utilize grade-level CLTs to create formative and summative common assessments. This will provide a rationale for decisions made to inform instruction and allow us to create individualized intervention/enrichment plans (REACH) for students.
