In our student voice survey, students share many things they like about Chesterbrook including being challenged in their school work, the support of their teachers, spirit days, teachers make learning fun and feeling safe and cared for. They also shared they would like smaller classes, would like more recess time, appreciate more collaborative projects and appreciate it when all classmates are on task and focused as this makes learning easier.
We would love to have more parent feedback on our Mission and Vision Survey if you have time. You can find that located here!
February has been an exciting month full of fun and learning as students have been showcasing their learning in a variety of ways - Kindergarten is celebrating 100 days of school on Monday, 1st grade is sharing their habitat collaborative projects, 2nd grade is working on their writing project and 3rd grade has been having fun singing about History. This week, our top CES spellers will face off at the school wide spelling bee Thursday evening beginning at 4:30. The PTA also brings us our 2nd school wide assembly this school year on African American History with a STEM laser show.
Over the next couple of weeks, Mrs. Thomas and I will be reviewing SR&R with students in all grades. We look forward to these opportunities to work with students and reset our high expectations for their school work and behavior so Chesterbrook continues to be a great place for all students to learn and grow.
Are you a new family to FCPS or Chesterbrook in the last couple of years? Would you enjoy a relaxed time to connect with a small group of families to ask questions and learn more about our community and school supports? I would love to set up an evening to connect with you! In order to set up an opportunity that will support those of you who would like to connect, please share some feedback to plan for this evening event. Some families have had less opportunity to connect and visit the school and we would love to hold an evening where you can do so. If this is of interest to you, please complete this quick survey.
Looking forward to a fun and exciting week of learning!

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has launched a COVID-19 Testing Locator website, which can help families find no-cost COVID-19 testing sites.
The locator is part of the CDC’s Increasing Community Access to Testing (ICATT) program, which focuses on at-risk communities. Testing is available at pharmacies and other locations and is provided at no cost to individuals with or without health insurance and in areas with an increased demand for testing.
