Welcome, Principal Kirkpatrick!
Dear Chesterbrook Elementary School Parents, Students, and Staff,
I am pleased to announce that Ms. Stacy Kirkpatrick has been named the new principal of Chesterbrook Elementary School, effective July 2, 2018.
Ms. Kirkpatrick previously served as the Director of Student Services at Carson Middle School where she had been a leader since 2012, also serving as an assistant principal during her tenure at Carson. Prior to her leadership roles at Carson Middle School, she worked as a school-based technology specialist at both Carson Middle School as well as at Deer Park Elementary School. As a classroom teacher, she worked at Olde Creek Elementary and also taught life science and physical science at Frost Middle School. Her career has afforded her the opportunity to work with students in grades K-8 and across the spectrum of abilities; she has worked with students receiving special education services as well as students accessing the advanced academics curriculum. With over ten years of experience at the elementary level and ten years at the middle school level, her instructional focus has always been one of integration, partnership, and inclusion.
Ms. Kirkpatrick believes that students thrive in an environment focusing on a high level of technology integration across the curriculum with an instructional focus on creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking. Collaboration and communication are key components to Ms. Kirkpatrick’s leadership style; she understands that it is important to create a positive culture of collaboration, trust, and learning which will then ultimately lead to higher rates of engagement for students, staff, and the community.
Ms. Kirkpatrick holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master of Education degree both from Lynchburg College. She received her administrative and supervision endorsement from Lynchburg College, as well.
Please join me in welcoming Ms. Kirkpatrick as the new principal of Chesterbrook Elementary School!
Fabio Zuluaga, Ed.D.
Assistant Superintendent, Region 2
